 It includes analysis of tool usage and associated processes, documentation review, security, back-up and restore processes, percentage of coverage, integration between change and configuration management, gap analysis, potential improvements/enhancements, identification of future goals, e.g. CMM/CMMi  compliance.

• 4-5 day on-site interviews with all personnel involved in the CM lifecycle including business analysts, customer support staff, designers, architects, developers, testers, sales teams, CM administrators, management, customers etc. are held in order to find out necessary data. 
• Report is proveded that contains findings, recommendations, potential benefits, timescales and associated costs.
• 1-day collaborative workshop is held to present findings and discuss the next steps.
