CM-Consult has released a new version of the solution for extended integration of IBM Rational ClearQuestand Microsoft Project (or Microsoft Project Server) 2003/2007 – Project Tracker 2.5.1.
CM-Consult ProjectTracker is featured in the IBM Global Solutions Directory  ID 38167 Project Tracker allows substantially simplify the project planning procedures of different complexity. The main function of Project Tracker is to increase efficiency of project managers, who can use the module to easily manage project terms and receive up-to-date reports on the project progress. On the basis of MS Project, Project Tracker builds a center of gathering the project information and allows managers to use only one system for overall estimation of the project progress.

The module can be easily implemented and effectively used in any project. According to the statistical research, the use of the module allows saving about 18-30% of working hours due to simplification of routine and repetitive operations. The module can be used with peak efficiency in organizations with a limited number of managers running a large quantity of projects.

Project Tracker main features:
  • Two-way synchronization of MS Project plans and ClearQuest change requests
  • Support for planning mode (MS Project plan is exported to ClearQuest), importing (change requests are imported from ClearQuest to MS Project) and synchronization (two-way synchronization of project data)
  • Support for synchronization for any type of change requests (Task, Activity, Defect, Request and etc.)
  • Synchronization of any MS Project and ClearQuest fields
  • Support for a single resource pool for MS Project and ClearQuest; synchronization of resource pool data between MS Project and ClearQuest
  • Support for requests of any nesting level (support for hierarchical change requests)
  • Support for dependencies between change requests
  • Launching any ClearQuest functions and forms from the MS Project menu

New features in Project Tracker 2.5.1:
  • Full support for Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), that was implemented by IBM in the version 7.1 of ClearQuest
  • Ability to create ClearQuest change requests of any type directly from MS Project
  • Ability to create links between additional ClearQuest requests
  • Ability to download additional read-only fields into the plan for additional ClearQuest requests
  • Ability to create simple filters (queries) for selecting additional fields
  • Ability to download child queries into the plan for single ClearQuest requests that are already available the plan
  • User interface has been improved: the ClearQuest Integration panel has been added to Project Tracker, the location of some commands in the Settings menu has been changed.
